Reverse Mermaid LLC is a small agency in Brooklyn. People run it, not a data business, and we read every email. We would rather hold less of your data than more, and we treat what you trust us with the way we would want ours treated. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
What we collect
- Your email address, which is also how you sign in, and the workspaces you belong to.
- What you add: brands, competitors, questions, images, and your chats with the assistant.
- Public research about your brands and competitors, such as search results, public ads, reviews and social posts.
- Billing details. Card numbers go straight to our payment processor; we never see them.
- Messages you send us through the contact form.
- Basic technical logs, so we can find and fix problems.

Google and Meta accounts you connect
If you connect Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or Facebook and Instagram ads, you choose exactly which accounts, properties, sites and Pages we can see. We see their names and IDs; campaigns, ads, keywords, budgets, and performance and cost data from ad accounts; traffic, sources and conversions from Analytics; and search queries, pages, clicks and impressions from Search Console.
We use that access, including Google user data, for one thing: running your marketing in Reverse Mermaid. That means showing your results, making recommendations, and creating, changing or pausing campaigns, only the ones you approve. Analytics and Search Console access is read-only.
This data stays in your workspace, visible only to your team. We never sell it, use it for anyone else's advertising, or mix it with another client's data. People here look at it only when you ask us to, such as when we manage your campaigns or help with a problem, or when security or the law requires it.
Reverse Mermaid's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect anytime in Reverse Mermaid, in your Google account permissions, or in Facebook settings under Business Integrations.
AI
We use AI to summarize research, suggest campaigns, draft ads, and answer your questions. Each request sends the AI provider only what the task needs, which can include data from accounts you connect. We use providers that don't train on it, and we never use your data to train AI models.
Who else handles it
A handful of service providers help us run Reverse Mermaid: hosting, database, email, payments, AI models, and search data. They work on our behalf and only for those jobs. Search data providers get search terms about brands, nothing about you. Public research, like competitors' ads, can be shared across workspaces; nothing from your workspace or connected accounts ever is.
Beyond that, we share data only when the law requires it. If Reverse Mermaid is ever sold, we will ask your permission before your data moves.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. Disconnect an account and we delete its access tokens right away and its data within 30 days. Delete your account or workspace and its data goes within 30 days. Billing records stay as long as tax law requires, and backups take a little longer to roll over.
How to delete your data
Disconnect an account in Reverse Mermaid, or delete your user account from your account settings. For a workspace, or anything else, email hello@reversemermaid.com from your account's address and we will confirm when it is done.
Your choices
Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to fix or delete it. One email is enough, and we will not make you jump through hoops.
How we protect your data
All data we hold, including Google user data, is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only your workspace's members can see its data, and staff access requires two-factor authentication.
Children
Reverse Mermaid is for businesses, not for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post it here with a new date. If a change affects how we use data from accounts you connect, we will tell you first and ask before using your data the new way.
